Second decade for SMITTEN mittens. Happy holidays to all! This festive season (right through Feb. 14, Valentine's Day) marks the beginning of our second decade of producing and marketing the Smitten mitten. We came up with the crazy idea for a mitten-for-two late in the winter of 1995/6 and set about looking for a factory that could produce a limited quantity. After naming the product, we registered its website – www.smitten.com – in July 1996.    The production run was for 500 pieces and we sent out mailers to prospective customers and displayed at some bridal shows. GLAMOUR Magazine caught wind of the product and, after photographing our sample, ran a blurb in the February, 1997 edition, which circulates at the end of December.  The stock sold out for Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.
